Originally founded in June 2019 by Danny Moody CSyP, Tobruk Protective Security Solutions Ltd has developed and grown into a trusted provider of strategic protective security services across the UK.

Since its inception, Tobruk has successfully delivered a wide range of consultancy and protective security projects for a diverse client base in London and across the UK, helping organisations strengthen their security posture through tailored, risk-based solutions.

WHY TOBRUK?
THE MEANING BEHIND THE NAME

Tobruk is a port city on Libya’s eastern Mediterranean coast, near the border with Egypt. It was the site of an ancient Greek colony and, later, of a Roman fortress guarding the frontier of Cyrenaica. Tobruk has a strong, naturally protected deep harbour with many escarpments to the south and across the Eastern half of Libya. These escarpments form a substantial physical barrier between the north and south of Libya in the Tobruk area.

The natural security provided by the old fortress and escarpments made Tobruk a strategically important Port during World War 2. The Siege of Tobruk was lifted in November 1941 when the British Eighth Army launched Operation Crusader against Erwin Rommel’s Afrika Korps.

As well as the Roman fortress and natural security provided by the escarpments giving Tobruk many Security links / synergies their was also an emotional tie as Danny’s Grandad ‘Arthur Moody’ had served at Tobruk during the war.

DANNY MOODY

Managing Director | Senior Consultant

Danny Moody, CSyP, MSyl, MASC founded Tobruk Security Management Services Ltd in June 2019. The company has recently rebranded and changed its name to Tobruk Protective Security Solutions on the 1st of October 2025. Danny is a Chartered Security Professional with 18 years of senior security management/leadership experience gained within the City of London whilst working for a variety of blue-chip companies at several iconic locations and six years as Managing Director of he’s own successful security business.
The company have successfully completed many significant security management and consultancy projects for a varied client base in London and across the UK. Danny is a serving committee member of the City of London Crime Prevention Association, a member of the Association of Security Consultants (ASC) and the Security Institute.

TOM GUNNING

Non Executive Director

Tom Gunning is a seasoned Business Owner and Operations Director with a proven track record in building and scaling successful enterprises. Having developed his own company into a highly regarded Chartered Building and Principal Contractor, Tom brings a wealth of strategic, operational, and commercial expertise to Tobruk Protective Security Solutions Ltd. As Non-Executive Director, Tom plays a key role in guiding the company’s long-term vision, supporting governance, and advising on business development and expansion strategies. His insight and leadership are invaluable as Tobruk PSS continues to grow its specialist security offerings across consultancy, projects, intelligence, cyber security, and training.

ANDY MCSTRAVICK

Strategic Business Advisor

Andy brings over 30 years of leadership experience across law enforcement, financial regulation, and corporate strategy. A former Metropolitan Police Detective and senior executive at the London Stock Exchange, he has led high-impact investigations, regulatory reform, and strategic M&A initiatives. As a trusted advisor to Tobruk Protective Security Solutions, Andy provides expert guidance on growth, governance, and risk. He has consulted for blue-chip firms and chaired boards in financial services and healthcare, helping organisations navigate complex regulatory and organisational challenges.

KELLY MOODY

Director | Office Manager

Kelly has been part of the company’s journey since the very beginning in 2019. She brings almost three decades of experience as a LegalSecretary, a background that’s been invaluable in ensuring our reports are flawlessly presented and meticulously checked before they reach our clients. Beyond her expertise with documentation, Kelly keeps the heart of the office beating, from booking appointments and liaising with clients to managing invoicing and keeping everything running like clockwork. Her professionalism, friendly approach, and exceptional eye for detail make her a valued and much-loved member of our team.
